My Goal

My goal is to make Lake County “Job Ready”. We start by electing a candidate who is Job Ready for the role to make Lake County, Ohio a better place to live, work, and raise a family. A better place to start or grow a business. A better place to retire and watch your children and grandchildren have opportunity right here.

My Commitment

My personal commitment to you and the voters who sent me to represent them at Willoughby Hills city hall three times is one and the same: To be an accessible and accountable public servant, and to always use my common sense.

I’ve been successful at my business and on Council by seeking ways to work smarter and more efficiently. That is how I will serve as your next Commissioner. I am Job Ready to serve you, and together we will move Lake County forward in a positive direction.

We will increase, develop and retain its job creators, so Lake County’s employment and production is at its greatest possible level. We have many talented people working for and serving our county. We will be sure they feel empowered.

My Plan

My plan to make Lake County Job Ready has three pillars:

(1) Create jobs. First and foremost, I will work with leaders in the public and private sector to enhance the environment for private sector job growth. As your next Commissioner, I won’t just talk about the unemployment problem. I will actively promote economic development and work to responsibly leverage the natural resources and competent workforce of our beautiful county to attract new businesses and retain our employers. I’m Job Ready and our Lake County will be too!

(2) Stop raising taxes. In tough times, we all need to live within our means, and county government is no different. As your next Commissioner, my answer to deficits won’t be a tax hike. I will cut waste, reward those who find cost savings, and work within the limits of what you and every citizen already contribute to Lake County.

(3) Conduct a county-wide assessment.Responsible government begins will sunlight and accountability. As your next Commissioner, I will create mission statements and real benchmarks for each county department. Where feasible, I will conduct a performance audit to evaluate our employees’ performance and efficiency, improve services, and reduce costs. Every department and every employee needs to be accountable to the voters. Every cost must be justified. I will use my management skills to evaluate, communicate, and motivate.

This year, I have already met with many of the elected leaders both in the county government and around our communities. I’ve had discussions with department heads and various stakeholders. Our county has some outstanding people who are ready for a Commissioner with new ideas, a fresh approach, and proven performance.
